Information we collect

App and access data may include an installation identifier, device and app-surface details, session timestamps, app version, trial or subscription state, and limited diagnostics.

Usage data may include journey usage, saved app state, feature activity, and support information you choose to provide. Apple may provide transaction identifiers and subscription status needed to verify access.

Your selected sources, private library index, playback queue, history, playlists, renderer state, and local cue results are primarily stored by the native app on your device.

How we use information

We use information to operate the app, enforce access rules, restore supported state, maintain discovery and local-library features, verify subscriptions, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve songScout.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use advertising cookies.

Local library and home-network privacy

Local music files, NAS addresses, private IP addresses, playable local URLs, object identifiers, folder paths, private playlist names, renderer identities, and full local catalog rows stay on your device or home network unless a feature explicitly says otherwise.

songScout does not upload your music files.

Optional AI-assisted enrichment

When you enable AI-assisted enrichment, songScout may send privacy-safe public music metadata such as artist names, album names, track titles, public identifiers, and bounded counts.

Private NAS URLs, folder paths, renderer identifiers, local file organization, and playable local URLs are not sent to AI prompts or the shared discovery cache.

Service providers

songScout uses Microsoft Azure services for hosting, storage, search, and AI-assisted processing, and Apple services for iOS distribution, subscriptions, and purchase restoration.

When you open an external music, store, or provider link, that service may receive information under its own privacy policy.

Storage and retention

Installation, access, quota, subscription, support, and limited app-state records may be stored server-side. Native app storage is used for preferences, continuity, local-library indexes, playback state, and caches.

Retention differs by data type and operational need. Billing, support, access, security, and server-state records may use separate retention periods.

Your choices

You can delete native app data, manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple, or contact us about account and privacy questions.

To request access, correction, deletion, or privacy help, email hello@songscout.app.

Children

songScout is not intended for children under 13. Do not use the app if you are not old enough to consent to these policies in your location.
